Connecting your SOLVIS heat pump
You can add your SOLVIS heat pump to the app in just a few steps to monitor and control it fully automatically using your PV surplus or dynamic tariffs.
Requirements: For the setup, you only need your registered email address and your password from the official Solvis Portal. Additionally, your SolvisControl must be running software version MA 3.24 or higher.
Step-by-step guide in the dashboard
Follow these steps to link your system:
- Navigate to the "Heat pump" menu item.
- Select SOLVIS as the manufacturer from the list.
- Provide your consent to the terms of use and privacy policy (check the box).
- Log in with your standard SolvisPortal credentials (email & password).
- After a successful login, select your heat pump. The setup is now complete, and the system is ready for smart control!
How the app controls & displays your heat pump
- Displayed temperature: We visualize the upper storage temperature S1. This is used for domestic hot water preparation via your fresh water station.
- Displayed power: The current electrical power consumption of your SOLVIS heat pump is displayed in watts. With this live value, you can directly verify whether your configured nominal power matches the actual consumption.
- Switching state during PV surplus: As soon as sufficient solar power is available, the app switches your heat pump to “Maximum operation”. This turns your heat pump storage into an optimal energy storage unit.
Important settings in SolvisControl
Use the parameters on your physical SolvisControl unit to manage how long and under what conditions the heat pump should run during PV surplus:
| Parameter | Meaning | Recommended value |
|---|---|---|
| Storage charging temperature | The target temperature for maximum operation. | e.g., 55 °C |
| Switching frequency | Switching hysteresis during maximum operation. A larger hysteresis protects the hardware and prevents frequent cycling of the heat pump. | e.g., 5 K |
| Runtime extension | With the Smart Grid hydraulic set, the Smart Grid shutdown sensor can be selected: S4 / S9 / S3 (only for SolvisMax, configurable by your installer). | To be set by the installer |
| Limit temperature max. operation | Configurable minimum outdoor temperature for enabling surplus operation. If the building is no longer warm enough during Smart Grid operation, this temperature must be set higher. | e.g., -8 °C |
Important information for app settings
1. Optimizing nominal power
Use this value to optimize the switch-on condition of your heat pump in Solar Smart mode. If you want to completely avoid grid import when starting the heat pump, we recommend a nominal power value of 3,000 to 4,000 W. For smaller PV systems, it may be useful to specify a lower power and adjust it gradually based on the actual electrical power during operation.
2. Using dynamic tariffs
To use dynamic tariffs, simply enter the “formula” for calculating your electricity price in your profile. Enter your monthly base price and the amount added per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to the spot price (including taxes and grid fees). The app automatically retrieves current spot prices in the background. You can define additional time windows for low-cost electricity or reduced grid fees under Profile - Electricity tariffs.
