Shelly offers a simple way to transmit your power consumption or grid feed-in data to us using their energy meters. You can also use Shelly devices to monitor the production of your balcony power plant or the consumption of your household appliances. It is also possible to control electrical loads such as heating elements or similar devices via Shelly hardware. Heat pumps can be controlled via the SG-Ready input using a potential-free Shelly device, such as the Shelly 1 or Shelly Plus/Pro/Mini 1.

Note: Currently, devices can only be added if you have one home configured in Shelly; Shelly is already working on enabling integration for multiple homes.

Installation: Energy Measurement

For energy measurement, the Shelly must be installed directly behind your electricity meter to capture the total power demand of your home. When aligning the current transformers, ensure that negative values are displayed during grid feed-in.

Installation: Smart Control and Consumption Measurement for Electrical Loads and Generators

For control purposes, the Shelly must be installed in the power line leading to your load. The power flow can then be regulated by switching the Shelly on and off. In Smart mode, control is automated. If you only wish to monitor power consumption or production, the Shelly must remain switched on.

An exception is the monitoring of 3-phase consumption or production devices. Monitoring is performed using a Shelly 3EM or Pro 3EM. In this case, energy flow measurement is carried out via current transformers, which must be installed on the device's supply line.

Preparation for Integration

To link your Shelly, you must first create an account at https://my.shelly.cloud and connect your energy meter to it. When setting up the Shelly, it is important that it is also connected to the cloud.

If your Shelly is not yet connected to the cloud, you can find this setting in the [Internet Security] section of the device.

Integration

We use an official partner integration for Shelly, which allows you to easily connect your Shelly devices to us and start optimizing your solar power usage.

Click on [Connect device]. You only need the username and password from your Shelly account. Authorize every device we are permitted to use (select YES twice) and click [Save]. Wait a moment until the [Done] message appears. The device is now connected. Switch back to our app, where you will now find all connected devices.

Status and meter readings are transmitted by Shelly in near real-time.
